This is a simple song and the singer's point is clear. It's not complicated, but it's soulful and it's beautiful. It's a song that doesn't ask the listener for much, but a bit of patience. She preaches resolutely without any trace of doubt to her significant other and maybe the "people." How can the singer be so assured of herself? How can she know that "everything will be alright"? I guess she knows what "we have" and that's all she needs. It has lofty ambitions and may be unbelievable and impractical (too romantic), but I believe her and I empathize. I hope someday the "people" will too. Yes, it's only a song, and it shouldn't be a able to change lives, but it can and when it does, it's magical; she wants to reach "You" and this is her medium. It's just two people communicating since the beginning of time, one listening and one speaking: "No one no one no one / Can get in the way of what I feel for you." I hope "You" believes her.
